I've been asked to provide music at Noon for TDR, Sat Oct 8th http://tdr.newjo.org/ In case you haven't heard.

I'll bring my PA, provide a house band of some sort, I can always rely on my regular band, Undercover, but I wanted to see what kind of interest there is in a Jam session. I think it would be more fun for everybody to give people a chance to bring an axe and play. If we have enough interest I may consider forming a NEOW house band instead of bringing my regular guys...

Post up if you're interested, if you'll be there that day, and what you play. :poke: No firm commitment necessary, just an approximate headcount.

I'll start:

My name is Rusty and I play bass.
My girlfriend is Caroline and she plays keyboards.

First person who thinks they're funny and says Skin Flute gets a :flip: :banghead:

I can make some noises on saxamaphones, and I'm interested. Gots a leetle brother that can actually play trumpet who might be interested. We both do jam band stuff/everything that might be a gig.

Come to think of it- I know a really good drummer who might be up for it as well, if we can't come up with one. I'll ask him.

Any news, Gonzo? Or Skinny? I'm wanting to keep this loose but if I can't get a gauranteed drummer I'll just bring my usual band  :flip:

And you and your trumpet are more than welcome Mr Fabuloustoypickup. I even bought some extra mics for the occaision. Any idea what you'd like to play?

Bumping this back up. Anybody sing, either while playing guitar or otherwise?

My goal is to put a band together, have 2 or 3 practices, learn about 20 tunes. Then open it up as a jam for anybody who wants to do a few tunes but can't make the practices. I don't mind bringing my regular drummer unless your friend is interested, Gonzo, or Skinny. Location of practices will be determined mainly by the drummer, or we can use my house in Waltham if necessary.

I play chapman stick and have a band. Well, sort of, our drummer and sax player left but the guitar player has been on the kit with me on the stick. We are looking for new members but in the meantime have been doing some open mics. We could do a 1/2 hour set and it would be great if there is a bass and guitar amp there for me to use.
Here's some camera pics of us one nite: http://www.panther4x4.com/stick/

And where is this located?

Sat Oct 8th, Washington New Hampshire. From Noon to about 2:00. All types of info are here: http://tdr.newjo.org/

That sounds cool... I've never seen a good stick player in person.

I need to get more serious about organizing this if I don't want to bring my regular band... I'm hoping to put together a quickie, no pressure blues band, have a practice or two in september, and then play a set and do an open blues/whatever jam. Nothing too ambitious, mostly tunes everybody knows like Hendrix, Zeppelin and blues stuff, songs picked by whoever wants to sing. I'd like to have a practice beer drinking session or two either at my house in Waltham, MA, my drummer's house in Peabody, MA, or wherever if there's another drummer interested. (Skinny?)
