Looking through the pcconnection catalog I came across something I didn't know I needed until now.
http://www.pcconnection.com/IPA/Shop/Produ...htm?sku=9176133
In our den which is our main TV room, I have a computer I can hook up to the hdtv.
The problem is I'd rather not have the computer near the tv as it's a bit of an eyesore. The idea of a really long cable doesn't appeal to me as it would likely be visible, and I don't think you can do that any way. It also needs a wireless keyboard and mouse to be useful. If I could move the box closer to the seating it would be less of an eyesore and be close enough to run wired keyboard and mouse.
So the above linked item seems to solve that issue. I'm wondering if there are better and/or cheaper solutions out there.
Running hardlines in wall would be difficult at best.

looks like there is some lag, so maybe it isn't that great of an idea.

Honestly, this would help.
Usually I'm up late on diaper duty, and I hate playing on the laptop. It's the only way I'll ever get to play.

i just run a s-video and audio jack out to my tv from the laptop. i have the laptop sitting on the livingroom table most all the time anyways, and a couple of cords dont bother me.. Don't know of any cheap way to do it wirelessly, besides the HD based boxes you just plug directly into your tv and they run kinda like a dvd player... http://blogs.zdnet.c...-theater/?p=151

usb2vga adapters such. software renderer. slow performance. More of a utility item than anything else.

I may just get a long VGA cable and only hook it up when I use it.
